ED Attack News: Recently, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team that had gone to conduct a raid in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal was attacked. Many officers also suffered injuries in this. At the same time, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has expressed concern that the main accused in the attack on ED officers and TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh might have fled across the border. The ED team had gone to raid Shahjahan’s house when it was attacked.

Governor Anand Bose has directed officials to immediately arrest TMC leader Shahjahan and investigate his alleged links with terrorists. TMC has also criticized the Governor for his statement regarding Shahjahan’s connection with terrorists. In a statement issued by Raj Bhavan on Saturday night, it was said that on receiving the complaint in the peace room, the Governor directed the police chief to arrest the culprit immediately.

What did the Governor of Bengal say?

A statement issued by Raj Bhavan said, ‘The Peace Room of Raj Bhavan received a complaint that Shahjahan Sheikh has the support of some political leaders. He also has collusion with some police officers. The Honorable Governor has directed the Police Chief to immediately arrest the accused and submit a compliance report.

Further in the statement, the Governor stressed that there is a need to trace the whereabouts of Shahjahan Sheikh and take appropriate action. He said that the complaint accusing the TMC leader of fleeing across the border and having contacts with terrorists should be immediately investigated.

TMC’s counterattack

Responding to the Governor’s statements, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, ‘We do not understand what is the basis of this statement. According to the Constitution, the Governor works under the advice of the state government. In such a situation, how can he make such a statement without any concrete report or evidence? He has not come here to run a parallel government.
